Day 5: Cape Cross & Skeleton Coast – The Rugged and Remote

Leaving Swakopmund, drive north along the Skeleton Coast, named for the numerous shipwrecks along its foggy shores.

Stop at Cape Cross Seal Colony, home to thousands of Cape fur seals—an unforgettable wildlife spectacle.

Continue deeper into the Skeleton Coast National Park, a desolate yet stunning stretch of coastline, popular among surfers due to its incredible, remote waves. While this region is largely uninhabited, its eerie beauty is worth the journey.

Where to Stay: If you want comfort and have time try Shipwreck Lodge, designed to blend into the landscape, or camp under the stars. We could not sleep by this part of the coast, but it should be an amazing experience if you have the time.

Day 6-7: Damaraland – Cultural Encounters & Stunning Landscapes

Heading inland, the next stop is Damaraland, a region known for its ancient rock formations, desert-adapted wildlife, and rich cultural heritage.
